There are many attractions in Jacksonville, from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, to TIAA Bank Field and the Florida Theatre, but one of the newest venues is VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. Formerly known as Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena is home to three sports teams and several concerts, making it critical to book VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena parking in advance with ParkWhiz. The venue opened in 2003, designed by venue architecture firm HOK Sport at a cost of $130 million. Its predecessor (also under the venue’s former name) was built before rock and roll became popular, with the audio quality bad enough that several top acts passed over the venue. The city of Jacksonville realized this and included a new stadium in the Better Jacksonville Plan. The new venue was designed from the start to have excellent acoustics, with Elton John being the inaugural performer. The arena is home to the Jacksonville Giants of the ABA, the Jacksonville Sharks of the NAL, the Jacksonville Icemen of the ECHL and previously hosted the Jacksonville Dolphins men’s basketball team from 2003 to 2007. Other artists who have performed at the venue include Britney Spears, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Prince and Faith Hill. With so many popular concerts and a variety of teams, it can be difficult to find VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena parking right before the event. Rather than circle around to find a spot, book VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena parking with ParkWhiz for spaces on-site at the venue.
