More about CFG Bank Arena
CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Maryland is in many ways a conventional indoor sports stadium, but its unique sports history makes it stand out. This high-grossing venue attracts fans from all over for the wide variety of events held there, making it important to book CFG Bank Arena parking ahead of time with ParkWhiz. Many venues have one or two teams acting as tenants for long stretches, which can be an advantage in some cases. However, the venue instead has had multiple teams for several sports as tenants, in addition to touring sports like wrestling that often come back to the same venues. The venue was first named the Baltimore Civic Center when it opened in 1961, situated where Old Congress Hall once stood. It was renamed Baltimore Arena in 1986, then 1st Mariner Arena in 2013, and after a short period again as Baltimore Arena in 2013-14, after which point it was renamed Royal Farms Arena until returning to the Baltimore Arena moniker in 2022 before being renamed to CFG Bank Arena in late 2022. The Baltimore Bullets of the NBA were based there from 1963-73, and then returned from 1989-97 for 35 games as the Washington Bullets before ultimately becoming the Washington Wizards. The venue has been host to many hockey teams, including the Baltimore Clippers of the AHL from 1962-77, the Baltimore Blades of the WHA from 1974-75, the Baltimore Skipjacks of the AHL from 1981-93 and the Baltimore Bandits (also AHL) from 1995-97. With a rich sports history, concerts and other touring events, it can be hard to find a CFG Bank Arena parking spot unless you book in advance with ParkWhiz.
