The team that became the Texas Rangers originated as the Washington Senators in 1961, playing in the nation’s capital for ten years, first at Griffith Stadium before spending nine years at what is now RFK Stadium in Washington, DC. The team relocated to Arlington, Texas for the 1972 season. Once in their new home city, the team was housed at what was then known as Turnpike Stadium, which had been built to MLB standards for a minor league team some years before. After spending several years at the renamed Arlington Stadium, the team relocated to Globe Life Park in Arlington in 1994, where they remained until 2019. The home plate was moved to the new Globe Life Field after their last game at Globe Life Park, located across the street from their old home. As a member of the American League West Division, the Rangers have seen great success, including two World Series appearances, two American League Pennants, seven West Division titles and one Wild-card berth. With an impressive new stadium and a bright future, it can be difficult to find Globe Life Field parking unless you book a Texas Rangers parking space beforehand with ParkWhiz.
