FedEx Field
FedEx Field is the home base of the Washington Redskins, a team with three Super Bowls and two pre-merger championships since 1937. The arena has an incredibly spacious level of capacity, able to hold 85,000 screaming fans wearing burgundy, gold and white. The sheer number of guests means that unless you plan ahead, it will be hard to find FedEx Field parking.
The stadium regularly sells out of non-premium tickets, a streak that began when it opened. In addition to Redskins football, the stadium also hosts concerts. Previous performers include Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, U2 and Muse. With both the Washington Redskins and a number of A-list musical performances, it is difficult to find a Fedex Field parking space when an event is about to start. Trying to find parking at the last minute is iffy at best; rather than circling around until the “Hail to the Redskins” plays, it makes sense to book your Redskins parking plans with ParkWhiz ahead of time.
The Redskins were the highest grossing NFL team in 2009, with $345 million in value, while Forbes Magazine ranked the Redskins as the second most valuable franchise, worth around $1.55 billion in that same year. Over its history, the team’s had winning streaks and losing slumps, always climbing their way out from the depths and back into the heavens. The team’s high point came around the 80’s with Super Bowl victories in ‘82, ‘87 and ‘91. Prior to parking at FedEx Field in 1997, the Redskins played in RFK Stadium, which some fans found to be superior to FedEx Field. For instance, some luxury seating at FedEx has been rendered impractical. An example is the “dream seats,” replaced the first three rows, placed so close to the ground that they are too low to see the rest of the field over the players’ heads, and fans have to stand to see.
The glory team of Joe Theismann, Bobby Mitchell and Mark Moseley has an impressive amount of star power at their demand, but this same advantage makes it harder for fans to find Redskins stadium parking. Due to this, if you want to find FedEx Field parking, it is best to book your parking place in advance using ParkWhiz.
ParkWhiz is as easy as singing “Hail to the Redskins,” and just as fun. All you have to do is find your game or event that you want to see on the ParkWhiz website, book your Washington Redskins parking spot and print your ParkWhiz parking pass. When you bring your parking pass with you, all you need to worry about is who will win the game, not your parking bill.
