Opening in July of 2018, Audi Field is the brand new home of the D.C. United of Major League Soccer (MLS). Built in Southwest DC along the Anacostia River and just a goal kick away from Nationals Park, this soccer specific stadium is quite the venue to take in a game. Fans heading to the pitch are united in knowing that ParkWhiz provides the easiest option to find and book Audi Field parking on gameday.
Construction started on the 20,000 seat field during February 2017. At this time, it was also announced that Audi, a German automobile manufacturer, was to enter into a long term naming rights deal for the new stadium. The venue was completed in July of 2018 and the first D.C. United match taking place on July 14th, 2018.
The United moved to this location following their first 21 seasons at RFK Stadium, which was once the home of the Washington Redskins and hosted five matches during the 1994 FIFA World Cup that was hosted by the USA. While RFK Stadium boasts a rich history of sport in DC, supports of the United have been clamoring for a new home for many years. In 2004, the MLS commissioner raised concerns about RFK and stated that a soccer specific stadium “needs to become a priority”.
You don’t have to be the D.C. United goalie to save on gameday. With ParkWhiz, fans can find the best parking space for them at Audi Field and save by booking in advance via the app or online.
