The Alamodome is the home of the annual Valero Alamo Bowl game, happening mostly in the last week of December. The tie-in conferences were previously the Southwest Conference and the Big Ten, but since 2010 it has features the second choice teams from the Big 12 and Pac-12 conferences. The game was previously known as the Builders Square Alamo Bowl, Sylvania Alamo Bowl and MasterCard Alamo Bowl before a sponsorship deal with Valero Energy began in 2007. Notably the 2011 Alamo Bowl broke the record for the highest score in a bowl game ever (123), based on the combined scores of the Washington Huskies and Baylor Bears.
