About Turner Field

The Atlanta Braves are defined by their moxie, fighting for their city and their own good name. Based at Turner Field, the team last won the World Series in 1995, but that does not deter their dedication in the least. The team has a very loyal fanbase, making it hard to find Atlanta Braves parking unless it is booked ahead of time.

Turner Field was built for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, and was subsequently used as a replacement for Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium after conversion to baseball usage. The Stadium is named for Ted Turner, local Atlanta media magnate and former owner of the Braves. With over 50,000 seats, Turner is the fourth largest baseball stadium in the US in terms of capacity. With a loyal following of many exuberant fans cheering on the Braves’ recent National League East win, it makes sense to beat the crowds by booking your Atlanta Braves parking spot ahead of time through ParkWhiz.

The Braves started out in 1871 as the Boston Red Stockings, only gaining their current “Braves” name in 1912. One significant period of this early era is the 1914 season, where the team went from cellar dweller to pennant winner before defeating the Philadelphia Athletics in the 1914 World Series. The team moved to Milwaukee in 1953, and with the help of Hank Aaron, won the the World Series in 1957, ending a New York team stranglehold on the contest. In 1966, the team moved yet again, this time moving to Atlanta and staying for good, first residing in Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. Despite ups and downs, the team pressed on to defeat the Cleveland Indians to win the 1995 World Series.

The Braves haven’t won the World Series since that time, but have still been a postseason fixture with pennants in 1996 and ‘99 on top of a handful of N.L. East titles, the latest obtained in 2013. Finding Atlanta Braves parking can be difficult, so booking Braves baseball parking spots in advance with ParkWhiz is the best solution.

ParkWhiz makes it easy to find Braves parking; select the game that you need Turner Field parking for, print out your Atlanta Braves parking pass (or use your mobile pass) and enjoy Atlanta's Turner Field!
