About Staples Center

Before the L.A. Live initiative entered fruition in 2009, downtown Los Angeles was a ghost town. Now, the $2.5 billion initiative thrives with the Nokia Theatre, the Grammy Museum, bars, restaurants and its headliner, the Staples Center. Now Lakers parking is centered in this downtown complex; no longer out in Inglewood where The Forum still stands.

More

While trending downward at the moment, it’s tough to find an American franchise in any sport with a better tradition of winning than the Lakers. Staples Center parking isn’t easy when its chief resident is making the playoffs every season and going to the NBA Finals more than any other basketball team. The Lakers’ 31 trips to the championship series is a mark no team is close to matching (Boston’s 21 appearances are second, the 76ers’ nine showings are third), and their 16 titles are one short of the Celtics’ record (Chicago is third with six).

The most recent championship in the city, however, belongs to the NHL’s Kings. The second-class citizens of the arena have taken no backseat to anyone with their recent showings on ice. Despite finishing eighth in the Western Conference in 2011-’12, Los Angeles upset the No. 1-seeded Canucks before sweeping No. 2 St. Louis and taking out No. 3 Phoenix to become the second team to eliminate the top three playoff seeds in NHL history. The Kings’ magical playoff run was complete after beating New Jersey to claim Lord Stanley’s Cup. The Kings finished the postseason with 16 wins and four losses, a remarkably dominant playoff run. With the Kings relevant again, so is Kings parking.

Now in a trendier zone of the city, the Staples Center now attracts quite the crowd, from die-hard citizens to cliched celebrities and wanna-bes out to be seen. Lakers parking, Kings parking and any kind of Staples Center parking is now worth booking in advance.
