"Quick, to the point."
"It was a good experience, pretty much. I had prepaid for this Park-It Management space at 108th St. on www.parkwhiz.com and printed my receipt with the QR code to bring with me. When I pulled in and they looked at my paper, they seemed a little bit confused or surprised. I was thinking. why is this a surprise to you? With ParkWhiz, I would imagine people like me come in ALL THE TIME with a pre-printed paid receipt and QR code. Then he kind of made it sound like I was underpaying. He asked how long I'd be (I had it reserved from 11:00am - 9:00pm). And he said, "You only pay $15??" Then he said over-sized vehicles had to pay an extra $7. This was not a surprise to me, as it was mentioned on ParkWhiz's website as a possibility. But I was surprised they'd consider my Audi Q5 and "over-sized vehicle." Whatever, I didn't protest. He again asked how long I'd be, and I was wondering if he was going to take my car offsite. Later... when I returned, there were different men working and there was similar confusion again about my paper receipt and QR code. I was charged an extra $7, for my "oversided" Q5. Really?? Over-sized?? I know many sedans that have a bigger foot-print than my small crossover SUV Q-5. I also found it interesting that the attendant never used a QR scanner-gun to actually CHECK my receipt to make sure it was legitimate. I mean, anybody to just create a "fake" receipt like that and paste a google image QR code on it. Two years ago when I parked at Edison ParkFast, 50 W. 44th St using ParkWhiz, I had a much better experience when I pulled in. At THAT garage, they seemed very familiar with pre-printed ParkWhiz receipts, they actually SCANNED it, and were wonderful. Park-It Management on 108th did not seem nearly as familiar with this or as organized. .... However, all of this aside, YES, there WAS a spot for me, they DID park my car all day for the price I had gotten online (plus the $7 for my "over-sized" vehicle... again - REALLY??), and when I picked up my car everything was fine, intact, undamaged, and I tipped the guy generously. But overall, I just felt like Park-It Management was unfamiliar with prepaid ParkWhiz receipts. Next time I will try a different garage that will hopefully give me more of a feeling of confidence and thorough understanding of prepaid ParkWhiz receipts."
