Shell Energy Stadium
Soccer is often perceived as a struggling sport in the United States, but when you take the successes of American teams like the Houston Dynamo and its Shell Energy Stadium parking into account, it is clear that the sport has potential. Major League Soccer is still relatively new to the city, but the team has been quite successful, the Houston Dynamo parking the ball into the net quite often.
Shell Energy Stadium is a sleek, ultra-modern arena built for the 21st century. The design itself looks like a positive vision of the future, with a facade of metal mesh upon orange polycarbonate, concrete and steel. The former BBVA Compass Stadium is the the fourth-largest soccer-specific stadium in the MLS, with a capacity of around 22,000. The Houston venue opened for business in May 2012, with the masterfully crafted stadium designed by Populous. In addition to the Houston Dynamo, the arena also hosts the Texas Southern Tigers NCAA football team, concerts and has the capability to host both MLS and FIFA soccer.
The Houston Dynamo came to being in a peculiar way, very similar to another football team, albeit American Football. When the Baltimore Ravens formed as an expansion team in Baltimore under Art Modell, they did not bring with them the records or history of the Cleveland Browns. The Houston Dynamo similarly is derived from the San Jose Earthquakes. In late 2005, the Anschutz Entertainment Group's talks for a soccer-specific stadium broke down, which resulted in the team's move to Houston, a city that was willing to build a venue for them. When the team began play in 2006, it hit the ground running, winning the MLS Championship in 2006 and 2007. Houston won the Conference Semifinals in 2008, the Conference Finals in 2009 and was runner-up for the MLS Cup in 2011. Finding Houston Dynamo parking can be difficult, so it is best to book Houston Dynamo parking spots in advance with ParkWhiz.
ParkWhiz is easy; all you need to do is find the game that you want to see, book your Houston Dynamo Stadium parking spot and print out your ParkWhiz parking pass. Once that’s done, you can relax and enjoy the game, rather than trying to find Shell Energy Stadium parking spaces.
